“She falls down the hole and no one is really nice to her at all. Pretty much every character she encounters, they’re not really on her side.”

Born in 1970, Garcia grew up visiting Disneyland and going to punk shows.
Her paintings are that of somewhat hauntingly beautiful cartoon worls and creepy children, slightly feminine, in a wasteland type fairytale vibe.

In 2010, she illustrated a version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, using her creepy, feminine style. She has stated that the original illustrations from John Tenniel have always been her favourites. Garcia collects children’s stories and has stated Carroll’s classic as being one of her favourites because it is actually a dark story. She thought after re-reading the book that she could make the illustration’s a little darker of an interoperation than the original.
