- Using scissors- be careful of the blades. Always keep an eye on what you are cutting to avoid injury. NEVER run with them either, always hold the bladed end if you must walk with them to avoid harm to others.
- Wrist Strain- It is important to take breaks from drawing, cutting etc, to avoid a strain which could end up jeopardizing the whole project as a result, as well as injury to self.
- Allergies- Confirm with your doctor first for advice on what products to use to avoid allergic reactions.
- Paint- Make sure that you do not splash paint in to your eyes, this may cause massive injury. If this did occur, wash eye out immediately with warm water.
- Paper- If you handle paper wrong, and move too fast with it, you may end up with a paper cut. These are very painful and easy to avoid if you slow down and do not rush. The same applies to card.
- Glitter- Glitter can be very painful if you get it in your eye. If this occurs, wash eye out immediately with warm water.
- Buttons- These are very small objects and may cause to be a choking hazard if placed in the wrong hands(E.g/ Children). To avoid this risk, don’t put in to wrong hands in the first place.
- Pens- Pen ink can be quite poisonous. Do not eat the pen ink, the tips can also be quite sharp. It is best not to draw on yourself with pens, it may result in blood poisoning. Because they are sharp, do not get contact near eyes.
I added my finished characters to the box today. there had been a change to the Mad hatter too. I gave him an orange feather for his hair, as I felt he was lacking this.
I forgot to mention that I made the Cheshire Cat. This was a while ago however. I used purple foam and layered his head with purple felt and mesh paper. I am pleased with how he has turned out and he really stands out from my background, which is great.
I’ve stuck the background in to the shoe box I will be using for my finished piece. I have also covered the box in green paper. This project is very almost complete!
Almost finished. This is the background I will be using, based upon that of Keith Haring’s style. I have used acrylic paints for this.
Here he is, the complete Mad Hatter! I decided to give him glittery legs to add to his tackiness. I think he’s creepy, which is great considering what he’s based on is meant to be. I’ve had very positive feedback on him.
Another problem! His hat was way too top heavy to support his body, so again I used the lolly stick, it also turned out the pipe cleaner is helpful to keep things in place.
I started and almost finished the Hatter’s hat today. For this I have used purple felt and wrapped a florescent pipe cleaner around for a more stand-out effect. I think I will also add multi-coloured sequins to it too, as well as his signature In Style 10/6.
White Rabbit, finished! I added Dali’s signature melting clock for his pocket watch to make his inspiration more recognizable. That’s a real gold chain as well! Oops.
